This Audi A7 came in for a remap check.
Customer had already had it “mapped” elsewhere —
but straight away, something didn’t feel right.
The symptoms
White smoke under load
No real power
Felt sharp on the pedal… but didn’t pull
👉 Classic signs of a poor setup
What we found

Once we checked the file, it was clear:
Only throttle response had been changed
NOx fault codes had been deleted
No real performance tuning applied
EGR not handled properly
DPF side not set up correctly
❗ Post injection still active despite a “DPF solution”
👉 Fuel still being injected when it shouldn’t be
👉 That’s where your smoke comes from
📈 What it should be
From factory, this engine sits around:
218HP
500Nm
A proper Stage 1 setup will typically achieve:
~310HP
~700Nm
👉 +92HP / +200Nm

The reality
Before we touched it:
No real power increase
No proper torque gain
Smoke under load
Driving didn’t match what it should be
👉 It felt “mapped”…
👉 But it wasn’t
What we did
We stripped everything back and started again:
Removed the old file completely
Built a proper Stage 1 setup
Corrected EGR behaviour
Fixed DPF strategy properly
Disabled incorrect post injection
No shortcuts. Done properly.
The result
Before:
White smoke
No power
Didn’t drive right
After:
✔ Clean running
✔ Proper power
✔ Drives how it should
⚠️ Honest note
Because of how badly the original file was done,
the car may need minor adjustments down the line.
That’s normal when fixing a poor job —
you’re correcting someone else’s work, not starting fresh.
